• Community Visitors / Home Visitors to the Eldery / Aged

Friendly visitor to the aged, visit at least once per fortnight, spending time doing something they enjoy, read, listen to music, chat, watch TV, walks, an outing.

Second language often helpful.

Includes training.

• Aged and Dementia Service

Looking after and helping the elderly, running therapies, activities and groups. Can accommodate 15hours of volunteering/week for benefit requirements.

Includes training.

• Helping With Activities For Dementia Patients To Give Carers Some Respite.

May include: quizzes, table games, art, music, craft, stories, gentle exercises, floor games, gardening, picnics & outings.

Includes training.

• Volunteering Within A Disability Service

Accompanying clients on outings, support with group activities, vacation care programs.

Includes training.

• Program to aid literacy in local schools.

Be trained in the literacy program and work with children in primary schools within the local area. Develop children’s self esteem.

• Assist with transporting the aged & disabled.

Bus drivers, car drivers, assist on outings on the buses, assist in the office

• Gardeners required

For community gardens and for maintaining not-for-profit organisation’s gardens.

  3. WONDERFUL Post.thanks for sharing. I think an important factor to successful volunteers will be working in honest good faith. I don’t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, however I am certain that your job is clearly recognized as a good game. Be encouraged!
